Many missed a quality concert

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

MARY ELMQUIST-LANE, Lima

My husband and I recently attended the Paul Todd concert at Veterans Memorial Civic Center. The caliber of this event was outstanding and something we may have missed if it wasn't for the kind invitation of friends. We know many people missed this wonderful performance, as the attendance was very low.

This letter is intended to let Lima know not to miss his next performance. Paul Todd is a wonderful writer, entertainer, composer, arranger and singer who was brought to Lima to raise funds for the Lima Central Catholic Educational Foundation by Bill Walter and his committee.

His repertoire was an outstanding mix of Christian, Broadway, classical and original compositions that left you wanting more. He accomplishes himself by playing six keyboards simultaneously with fingers and feet moving at lightning fast speed. His enthusiasm and his ability to establish a connection with his audience made his performance even more special. His son and two talented friends joined him many times, bringing additional talent to the stage that enhanced his program. The audience was caught up in the joy he exudes in performing and sharing his talent, which made you tap your feet, clap your hands and marvel at the variety of talents he possesses. The audience experienced a variety of emotions during his program, including nostalgia when he sang his original song "The First Lady in My Life," written for a mother and son wedding dance.

Kudos to Bill Walter and his committee that brought Paul Todd to Lima on July 14 to benefit the Lima Central Catholic Educational Foundation. I urge you to put this on your calendar when he returns for an encore performance, not only for the pleasure you will receive from his outstanding performance, but to support the Lima Central Catholic Educational Fund.
