Bluffton hospital receives pathologists accreditation
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Bluffton Hospital was recently awarded accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The award means that Bluffton Hospital's laboratory is one of more than 6,000 CAP-accredited laboratories nationwide. During the CAP accreditation process, inspectors conduct an on-site visit to examine the laboratory’s records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. Inspectors also examine staff qualifications, laboratory equipment, facilities, safety program and record, as well as overall laboratory management. The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program is recognized by the federal government as being equal to or more stringent than the government’s own inspection program.
