Joyce Ann Ketcham

Joyce Ann Ketcham, 76, died Aug. 24, 2008, at Virginia Baptist Hospital, Lynchburg, Va., after an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 25, 1931, in Lima, to Earl H. and Ferol Crow Archer, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 10, 1951, she married Ronald Lee Ketcham, who survives.
Mrs. Ketcham was last employed by the Lima Chamber of Commerce. She graduated from South High School in June of 1950. She and her husband resided in Lima until they moved to Monroe 14 years ago. She attended Midway Baptist Church and the seniors group at the Peddlar Fire House.
Survivors also include a son, Michael Lee (Elaine M. Walls) Ketcham, of Lima; a daughter, Linda Joyce (James C. Jr.) McAllister, of Monroe, Va.; a brother, Vernon (Connie) Archer, of Florida; three sisters, Ruth (Floyd) Metzger, of Ohio, Martha (Alan) Shappell, of Arizona, and Carol (Kenny) Bowsher, of Ohio; eight grandchildren, Mark L. (Vicky) Black, of Virginia, John S. (Lonnie) Black, of Texas, David W. (Kirsten) Black, of Maryland, William M. Black, of Virginia, Jedidah I. Ketcham and Zechariah I. Ketcham, of Ohio, and Erin M. McAllister and Sarah F. McAllister, of Virginia; a son-in-law, William L. Black; five in-laws, Della Archer and Faith Ketcham, of Ohio, Sarah Ketcham, of Kansas, and Joan Ketcham and William Shafer, of Ohio; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Rodger Archer; two sisters, Vera Rutledge and her husband Ralph, and Alice Conrad and her husband David; and nine in-laws, Marge Archer, Dwight Ketcham, Lloyd Ketcham, Louise Coffee, William Ketcham, Nancy Shafer, June Ketcham, Marjorie Ketcham and Billie Ketcham.
Memorial services will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Terry L. Ayers will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midway Baptist Church, the American Narcolepsy Association or the American Cancer Society.
