Lower drinking age with restrictions
Comments 0 | Recommend 0I am 68 years old. Sometime in the 1980s, the drinking age changed from 18 to 21. I am speaking about the states in the Midwest. During this time, the beer companies did away with 3.2 percent draft beer, which was what all the 18-year-olds were allowed to consume. Actually the alcohol in 3.2 percent draft beer was about 1.5 percent. I am in favor of lowering the drinking age to 18 if they would bring back 3.2 draft beer.
As far as these college officials wanting to drop the drinking age, it just shows me they have no control over their students or they do not want to take the responsibility. Penalize these students who are breaking the drinking laws and penalize all the fraternity houses or anyone else throwing excessive drinking parties with stiffer penalties.
