David B. Dray
Comments 0 | Recommend 0David B. Dray, 81, died at 9:35 a.m. Sept. 6, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Delphos, to Elmer and Mary Rupert Dray, who preceded him in death. On May 30, 1952, he married Coletta Ernst, who survives in Fort Jennings.
Mr. Dray worked as a machine operator for Fruehauf for 34 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the American Legion of Fort Jennings, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Delphos and the Delphos Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, rollerskating and working in his garden. He served in the Navy on the USS Bunker Hill.
Survivors also include three sons, Gary (Sally) Dray, of Delphos, Ronald Dray, of Middle Point, and Tim (Mary) Dray, of Fort Jennings; a daughter, Diane (Roger) Trentman, of Fort Jennings; three sisters, Caroline Wiechart, of Delphos, Romaine (Lee) Pavel, of Rushmore, and Marjorie Hummer, of Lima; three brothers, Gene, John (Mary Ann) and James Dray, all of Delphos; and seven grandchildren, Renee Trentman, Travis Trentman, Bradley Trentman, Marcy Dray and Andrea, Tyler and Spencer Dray.
Se was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Walter Dray; three sisters, Lillian Morvey and infants Charlotte and Rosemary Dray; and infant son, Roger Dray; and two infant grandchildren, Alexander Dray and Melissa Trentman.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Joe Przybysz will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, where military rites will be performed by the Delphos Veterans Council and Fort Jennings American Legion.
Friends may call from 2 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, where a parish wake service will begin at 8 p.m. Monday. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the American Heart Association.
